Meet Eileen Schneidman

Career Coach and Parent

Unlike the rest of the Admissions Village team, I am not in the business of college counseling. Instead, I have the privilege of helping you figure out what comes next after college.

For more than 10 years, I have served as an advisor to senior executives and entrepreneurs as they reimagine their work and legacy. I have a series of conversations with the leader over many months and then create content for them. Initially that may be a resume, LinkedIn profile, or website. From there I often source and recommend opportunities, and help prepare them for interviews and speaking engagements. I’ve had the good fortune to contribute to radio shows and books, too. I’m particularly fond of crafting a bio that captures a client's story thus far.

I graduated from Lafayette College and majored in art and psychology. My career began in advertising at Grey Direct and then brand management at Philip Morris USA. After the birth of my first child, I was a telecommuting client service director for a NYC boutique ad agency with a client roster that included Bertelsmann Music Group, Nestlé Waters, and Sony. In 2005, and now with three children under the age of 10, I co-founded Planet Mom, a small business that appeared on the "Today" show, "The View," "Fox & Friends," Good Morning America's website, and Disney.com. My business insights have been featured on Joe Connolly's Small Business Report and MarketWatch.com.

Planet Mom closed its doors in 2011, and I started ghostwriting for businesses. I quickly sold more than 500 pieces to major online retailers, law offices, pet care providers, real estate networks, tax professionals, and tech firms. During this time, I was approached by a successful entrepreneur who needed her bio and website updated – could I help? That initial entrepreneur engagement has led to work with leaders across industries thanks to clients recommending me to family, friends, and colleagues.

From there, clients asked if I would help their child or a niece or a nephew with their job search, which is how I started working with college students and recent graduates several years ago.

Anyone who works with me knows I ask a lot of questions! I am endlessly curious about people. I strive to help you identify and land that “great fit” role, whatever you define that to be. You might not know at first, but we will get there. What I see again and again is that where we start and where we finish are two very different places. It is an honor and joy to take this journey with clients. I very much look forward to meeting you.
